The Hand Work

 In News

The handwork is in reality the finger work. The wrists remain flat as the fingers go to work to manipulate the blades into position. Not only do the wrists remain in a flattened position but the forearms as well.

It becomes a light touch with the fingers to do the necessary work at each end of the track. You must consistently activate the fingers throughout the cycle. It is critical for achieving flow.

The bellnotes are struck at each end of the slide and it is this consistent striking that gives flow to the shell and body. It all becomes part of a greater whole, the hands and the body and the position on the track.
